TotalEnergies Fiji Launches Solar-Powered Service Station in Lautoka

Lautoka, December 17, 2022 – TotalEnergies Fiji inaugurated its Vunato service station in Lautoka, powered by solar energy. Equipped with 48 photovoltaic panels of 415 watts, the station can generate 29 megawatt-hours of power per year, contributing to 15 tons of CO2 reduction per year.

The station was launched by François-Xavier Léger, French Ambassador to Fiji and Aimeric Ramadier, Vice President Oceania and Southeast Asia, TotalEnergies Marketing and Services in the presence of government officials, partners, and customers.

Ambassador Léger commented that TotalEnergies’ investments in Fiji highlighted growth prospects in the country. He congratulated the company for its expansion in Fiji’s service station network, with inauguration of the Vunato station.

Aimeric Ramadier said, “The new station will contribute to TotalEnergies' global efforts to solarize our service stations, in line with our sustainability ambition. We also look forward to meeting the country’s energy needs by providing a reliable supply of high-quality fuels, coupled with positive customer experience.”

Since 2018, TotalEnergies in Fiji has equipped 18 of its company-owned service stations with solar panels. A total of 22 TotalEnergies stations in Fiji will be solarized by end 2023, which will lead to 5,000 tons of CO2 reduction over an average 25-year operational period.

Residents of Lautoka and commuters on the Kings Road between Lautoka and Ba will enjoy diverse services and offers at the station featuring TotalEnergies’ customer-centric retail concept. It has a Mobility shop, Café Bonjour with outdoor seating, Drive Through Jet Wash, Quartz Auto Care (lube bay) and a spacious forecourt with eight refueling positions.
